After we got home from my favorite antique store I was inspired. Usually when I am inspired we all end up very tired. However, we had this red book shelf for a very long time. I took it with me when we moved from Church Street (more on that later) because I needed a bookshelf for all the homeschooling books. Fast foward...our storage unit catches on fire and we loose everything!!! This red bookshelf was with us and not lost...so this is the closest thing to a family heirloom.
Unfortunately, I am over the red. I decided to paint it while the kids were sleeping. Pete always gets nervous because even though I do most of it myself I always need help and the help usually involves him hitting his shins and stepping on Barbie shoes while lifting heavy pieces of furniture during a UF/Tenn game...thanks babe!
This puppy took like 500 coats of paint and some back breaking upside down painting. I finished before the game did, so Pete heaved it back inside and I got to work on part 2 of my inspired project....
Arranging the adorable bookshelf that can no longer hold books because it is to cute. Looks like I need another bookshelf!

Grand Bay has this great little antique store called White House Antiques. She has a website that is great . Her prices are great and stuff is adorable. But when we see a rusted tractor sitting roadside we have to stop and stretch our legs.

As I look through my pictures practicing this whole blogging thing I realize that I don't have a lot of pictures of Emily. I pause, feel guilty and then realize why. Emily is ALWAYS reading a book. I have to tell her several times , "Em, put down the book and..... whatever." I know this now, but when she is 25 and having her first child she will be like, "My mom never blogged about me." And then by her 5th child she will realize that a mom never wants to interupt a content child, even for a picture.
Molly is always so ready to jump in a picture and smile. So many people say Lucy and Priscilla look like Molly. They all have a very cute mom that's what I say!
This was the first day Molly got her glasses. She was so proud. I am so amazed at how reponsible she is with them. She may not need them forever which will devestate her. She loves them. I have always wanted to wear glasses, have straight red hair and a cute smile. I wish I were Molly..plus I love her

We went to Jacksonville last week because my nephew was in the hospital. He is doing great and now has glasses like his cousin Molly. We stayed and swam in his pool and drove my brother crazy by convincing him to allow Ryan to swim after getting home from the hospital! What are cool Aunts for?
Just the girls getting to know each other. When we got the babies together we just sat back and watched them communicate in their own way. You see, Priscilla is used to people touching her, grabbing her, hugging her and even giving a random lick here and there. She was just giving Julia a little taste of the Melnick way of communicating. And Julia responded wonderfully!

My Mom. We are all so lucky to have her as a Grammy to all 7 of her grandkids..
I am responsible for 5 of the 7, thank you very much. I am continually learning from her loving and patient heart
